Renée Kathleen Zellweger (born April 25, 1969 in Katy, Texas) is an Academy Award-winning movie actress.

Zellweger, the girl of Emil Zellweger (a Swiss immigrant) and Kjellfrid Irene Andreassen (the Norwegian immigrant of Sami origin), graduated from Katy High School in Katy, a suburb of Houston in 1987. She was the cheerleader and gymnast, and participated in the drama club. When high school, she went to the University of Texas at Austin to major in English. Though she took the dramthe class exclusively because she required a fine arts credit to complete her degree, it reminded her of how else lot she loved acting.
